Hello everyone,
We are a little over 40 days away from CUSEC 2008! The organizing
team has been hard at work since the last CUSEC to make sure that 2008
is best ever.
This newsletter will cover:

1 - CUSEC 2008 Website and Blog

2 - Presentation Update
The keynotes for CUSEC 2008 are set! This year’s awesome lineup
includes Jeff Atwood, Jeffrey Ullman, Zed Shaw, Tim Bray, Marcel
Molina Jr., and Jon Udell. Joining our keynotes will be an amazing
group of speakers from academia, such as Marsha Chechik, Jeremy
Cooperstock and Ettore Merlo, as well as industry speakers from SAP,
Idee, and TELUS. And to top it off, we’ve got tutorials given by
Adrian Thurston, Julian Spillane, and Sylvain Carle. Stay tuned to
our blog as we put the spotlight on each of our speakers!
3 - Companies Attending CUSEC
Thank you to MANSEF, SAP, TELUS, Evertz, IBM and Scout Design for
sponsoring and helping out with CUSEC 2008. MANSEF, SAP, TELUS,
Evertz and IBM will all have booths at CUSEC and will be recruiting
for co-ops, internships and full time opportunities, so be sure to
bring your CV and a firm handshake.
4 - Registering/Attending CUSEC
Registration is now officially open! The cost of attending CUSEC as a
student is the same as last year, which is $55 for early registration
and $100 after December 31, 2007. The cost for professional attendees
is $150. Registration this year is done through Head Delegates (HD).

5 - DemoCampCUSEC2
Last year’s DemoCampCUSEC was such a great success that we’re bringing
it back! Want to demo your project? We are looking for up to 6 15-
minute presentations, please email Julie Hache (elektrophile [at]
gmail [dot] com) if you want in or have any questions. Don’t be shy!
Want to attend? It’s open to everyone and it’s free! Go ahead and

6 - Conference Center and Hotel
We had such a great time at the Centre Mont-Royal last year that we’ve
decided to host CUSEC there again. The conference center is located
at 2200 Mansfield in downtown Montreal. The official CUSEC hotel
where organizers, speakers, sponsors and delegates will be staying is
at the Best Western Europa-Downtown located at 1240 Rue Drummond. To
receive the reduced CUSEC rate of $99/night, make sure to mention the
password "Fun @ CUSEC 2008".
